*First Prize, Taipei New Horizon Festival 2017*
Imaginary Park is an outdoor campaign held at Songshan Culture & Creative Park, the installation are all evolved from the doodles drawn by Children with ID*.
We worked closely with “Children Are Us Foundation” to co-create hundreds of paintings with children over the course of one year.
Children with intellectual disabilities (ID) often struggle to conform to societal norms. Yet, they openly shared genuine thoughts and feelings from their lives; waves of laughter; and happiness. The children are natural born artists and they welcomed the project with open arms, motivating us to preserve their innocent ideas.
In contrast to often strictly regulated sports events, in the minds of children with ID, in art there are no rules to follow or boundaries that are forbidden to cross. We enabled every participant to set their imagination free and realise their unconstrained world view with installation art.
